Gray Lake

Lake Gray is located in the western part of the Torres del Paine National Park and is bordered to the east by the slopes of Cerro Paine Grande and Cerro Aleta de Tiburón. It has an area of ​​3,250 hectares, is more than 500 meters deep and is the largest source of water for the lake, which comes from the Gray Glacier, which flows into the northern sector.

We already mentioned it before because Gray Lake is right next to the Gray Glacier, which is part of the Southern Ice Fields. It is a mass of ice 6 kilometers wide and more than 30 meters high. This imposing glacier has a bluish and grayish hue, due to the waves of light and the abrasion produced by the ice.

Due to climate change and rainfall, the Gray Glacier is in a state of retreat and some ice fragments have broken off. So take care of it if you have the chance to visit it!

Another of the most wonderful lakes in Chile and especially in Torres del Paine is Lake Pehoé. It is located very close to the town of Villa Cerro Castillo and is 145 kilometers north of the city of Puerto Natales.

It is characterized by its crystal clear blue waters, which are surrounded by its imposing mountains that make you fall in love with the place. The Tehuenches named it “Hidden Lake” because it is hidden among other lakes and rivers in the area.

The Cuernos
