ITINERARY DESCRIPTION

DAY 1: San Cristóbal Island – High Lands Tour

You are welcomed at the airport upon arrival on the island, operations personnel will accompany you to the selected accommodation so that you can settle in, leave your luggage and make recommendations for food places as well as basic recommendations throughout the trip. Once lunch is over (2pm) the tour will begin. We recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes, a waterproof poncho, a jacket, sun protection, a water bottle, a sun hat, and storing any electronics in bags in case of rain. The tour includes the visit of 3 points of interest:

– Lagoon of the “Junco”

– Galapaguera “Cerro Colorado”

– Ceibo House

During the tour we will be able to have views of incredible landscapes as well as see a little of the human history of the islands.

DAY 2: San Cristóbal Island – Full Day 360 Tour

Breakfast is served from 6 am to 6:30 am After that, they will pick us up at the hotel at 7:00 am to take us to the pier where the boat is waiting for us, ready to start the “360 Tour” We will visit 5 sites:

– White Rose Bay

– Point Pitt

– Punta Puctuna

– Hill of the Dead

– Sleeping Lion

During the tour we will be able to appreciate endemic fauna and flora, pristine landscapes and likewise we will be able to do surface diving or snorkeling, in several of the mentioned sites, being able to observe a great variety of amazing marine species. The tour includes:

– Snorkeling equipment (wetsuit not included)

– Naturalist guide

Approximate time of return to Puerto Baquerizo Moreno: 5:00 p.m.

DAY 3: Full Day Puerto Ayora (option “B” DAY 2)

Our day begins at 8 am with a visit to the Charles Darwin Research Station, an iconic place in the Galapagos, the same one that receives dozens of scientists from all over the world throughout the year.
The Charles Darwin Research Station is a place where we can learn a little about the formation process of the islands and the chain of adaptive processes that species have undergone over time, as well as the opportunity to buy souvenirs, which contribute to the funding new scientific research.

Las Grietas is a beautiful place where we can practice activities such as snorkeling and swimming.

To end the morning we will visit the “Los Alemanes” beach, which is an ideal place to rest and for children to play safely and confidently since its turquoise and shallow waters.

The return is scheduled for 1 pm to go to the restaurant** where we will be served lunch*

*The menu will be previously selected by the passenger so that it meets the gastronomic requirements of the passenger. For this, the letter will be sent via email for the selection of the menu. **Previous passenger selection.

After lunch we will go to the dock where we will take a boat that will take us to Tortuga Bay.

This beach is an icon of Santa Cruz and its visit is inevitable to this beautiful white sand beach where we can spend the rest of the afternoon resting.

DAY 4: Full Diving Tour Seymour + Mosquera (2 dives)

Breakfast is served early in the morning as scheduled by the group since the pick-up starts at 6:30 am to go to the Itabaca canal where the boat that will take us to the points described below awaits us:

Seymour Channel

The Seymour Island channel has a sandy bottom where you can see colonies of garden eels, sea turtles, sea lions, eagle rays, hammerhead sharks, white tip sharks, and Galapagos sharks. In the most inland part of North Seymour, introductory or discovery dives are carried out for people who are not certified and want to have an experience with the marine animals of the Galapagos. Dives off Seymour Island are made by expert certified divers at a depth of 18-25m with a light to medium current, and this is where you have the best chance of spotting hammerhead sharks.

DAY 5: ISABELA Island – Los Túneles Tour

After breakfast, between 6 am and 6:30 am, a vehicle will pick you up that will take you to the main pier “Gus Angermeyer” where the boat that will take you to Isabela Island awaits you. This trip begins at 7 am, which is why you must be at the pier 30 minutes before to carry out the respective controls and records. The trip takes approximately 2 hours.

Upon arrival in Isabela, they will take a taxi that will take them to the convenient and comfortable Las Tintoreras hostel, where they can settle in their room and prepare for the first tour that begins at 11 am.

The tour to Cabo Rosa, better known as “Los Túneles” on Isabela Island, lasts approximately 1 hour and a half to 2 hours. Once in this sector, the boat will go through the different paths through the tunnels where you can clearly see the landscape that is the highlight of this site.

The tour begins at approximately 11:30 AM in which we first head to Roca Unión, a small islet located in the open sea where you can see Pelicans, Nazca Boobies and Blue Footed Boobies and one or another sea lion resting on the rocks.

After this short stop, you navigate for about 45 minutes to reach one of the most beautiful landscapes of rocky lava formations in the Galapagos Islands, it is called “Los Túneles” since in ancient eruptions, lava passed under The earth formed tunnels that later collapsed and gave rise to these arches over the water where you can clearly see vegetation coming out of the rocks, the crystalline water, the sea lions fluttering between the arches.

Later, we moved to the site known as Finados to snorkel with sea turtles, “Tintoreras” sharks, golden rays, eagle rays, seahorses, fish such as Surgeons, Damicelas,. The tour includes a light box lunch on the boat after having completed the two activities, after lunch we prepare to return to Isabela at about 4:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

DAY 6: ISABELA Island – Sierra Negra Volcano Tour

As every day, breakfast is served between 6:00 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. After that, they will pick you up at the hotel and transfer you by vehicle to the entrance control point to the Sierra Negra volcano.

We recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes, a waterproof poncho, a jacket, sun protection, a water bottle, a sun hat, and storing any electronics in bags in case of rain. The 12 km walk takes around 3 hours. The walk is done along a path of medium difficulty with a slight slope.

The Sierra Negra Volcano has the second largest crater in the world, at approximately 6 miles in diameter and 300 feet deep and makes for one of the most spectacular sights in the Galapagos. The hike continues to Volcán Chico. You can feel the hot earth as we get closer, since this is an active volcano. The panoramic view from this place is wonderful. In the afternoon we return to the hotel.

** IMPORTANT NOTE: Due to the recent increase in volcanic activity of the Sierra Negra Volcano on Isabela Island, certain areas of the Sierra Negra Volcano have been closed to tourist visits. As of January 17, 2018, the hiking area known as Volcán Chico, has been closed for hiking. For now, our excursion will go as far as the Elizabeth Bay viewpoint, but the regular hike at Volcán Chico will be skipped.

The return is scheduled for 12 pm to be already in the town (Pto. Villamil) and the return to Sta. Cruz is scheduled for 2:30 pm, which gives us 2 hours to have lunch and pick up the bags from the hostel, since As we indicated before, you must always be at the pier 30 minutes before boarding.

You will be arriving in Pto. Ayora at approximately 5:00 p.m.

DAY 6: Return to San Cristóbal Island - Free Morning – Airport and farewell

As usual, breakfast is served from 6:00 am since at 7 am we will be boarding the boat that will take us back to San Cristobal Island.

The trip will last approximately 2 hours arriving at approximately 9 am.

You have around 3 hours to go around the town or visit the Interpretation Center, or Cerro Tijeretas or simply rest before going to the airport.

*Important: The transfer to the airport is a coordinated element according to the passenger’s requirements, this means that it strictly depends on the departure time of the flight.

Rates

Flights

It is preferable that the arrival flight to Baltra (if applicable) is at 09:30 am. and the exit after 11:00 to carry out the planned visits.

BAGGAGE POLICIES

Per person a 20 kg suitcase + 1 6 kg hand luggage if your trip is to the Galapagos.

PAYMENT POLICIES

INITIAL DEPOSIT: A payment of 50% of the value per person must be made within 96 hours of confirming the space, it constitutes a guarantee for blocking the reservation.

FULL PAYMENT: Full payment for the trip must be made 30 days prior to trip departure. If there is a breach of these times, the reservation will be eliminated, only in special cases can extensions be accepted. In case of making the reservation within 15 days prior to departure, the service must be paid in full.

TRIP CANCELLATION POLICY

  • In case of canceling the reservation, the initial payment will not be refunded in any case.
  • If the passenger cancels the reservation without having started the trip, he will be subject to penalties such as:

From 91 days or more before the provision of the service, the initial payment is charged.

From 90 to 61 days before the provision of the service, 50% of the total value is charged.

From 60 to 31 days before the provision of the service, 80% of the total value is charged.

Cancellations made between 30 days before the provision of the service will be charged 100% OF THE TOTAL VALUE In the event that the passenger has problems of a legal nature, for migratory reasons or force majeure that makes it impossible to show up on the day of the trip, it will be considered a NO SHOW, so it is subject to 100% penalty and there is no refund.
