Pai Pai ecoturism park

Pai Pai park is located on the Carretera a La Bufadora km 6, past the Oxxo curve on the left side. We turned on the GPS and it took us straight to the place, but if you don’t have GPS there is no problem, just take the Carretera a La Bufadora and follow the signs. There are a couple of signs that say Pai Pai Ecoturism Park, so you can’t miss it.
Once you arrive there are 2 activities to do:

“Rescuing Lives” Tour.
Convivencia at the Emanitos Farm.
What each one consists of
This tour is the main activity of this conservation center. It has a recovery fee of $100 pesos per person (children under 2 years old do not pay).

At the time you purchase this tour, a park guide will come to give you an explanation of each of the animals they have there.

So that you can imagine it a little bit, you enter the area “Rescuing lives” and there are about 9 rooms, where in each one there are different animals. People are walking around and they come across a different room and they have a glass so they can see them. I hope you can get an idea of what it is like, what happens is that it is not allowed to take pictures or video, so that’s why I can’t show you in detail.

There are squirrel monkeys, capuchin monkeys, raccoons, lemurs, foxes, macaws, ferrets and jaguars. All the animals in this area are being rehabilitated. There are about 6 jaguars and tigers of different ages. There is one that is in an incubator because it is still a cub.

The guides tell you a little bit of the history of the animals you are seeing.

For example, they have a female capuchin monkey named Victoria, she told us that when she arrived she was in an alarming degree of malnutrition and had no confidence.

She wouldn’t leave the room where she slept and didn’t live with anyone.

Now we could see her running and jumping from tree trunk to tree trunk with children and adults.

She says that she is already at a good weight and they hope that she will have a couple of months more so that she can live with the rest of the monkeys they have there.

The tour is relatively quick because as I mentioned there are about 9 rooms, not many. So the explanation is done very quickly.

When you buy the bracelet, you can decide if you want to live with the capuchin monkey, the raccoons or the lemurs. We chose the lemurs.

They let us into the room where they were kept and other guides explained a little more about their history.

There were two of them, a male and a female, and they told us a little about the personality of each one and their names.

What is important to mention, and what they made clear to us, is that even though they live with people, they are still wild animals, so you have to be careful because they are not domestic.

But at least the experience with us was very good.

At this time you are allowed to take as many pictures and videos as you like.

This interaction lasts about 10 minutes. It depends a lot on how big is the family that comes in at that moment interacting with them.
The interesting thing. If you want to take a picture with any of the other animals after this experience, you will have to pay a recovery fee.

For example:

Photo with a lemur, capuchin monkey or raccoon are around $15 dollars per person.
Pic with 1 baby jaguar $35 USD per person + $10 USD per extra person.
Photo with 3 baby jaguars $75 dollars per person + $10 dollars per person extra
Pic with 4 baby jaguars $85 dollars per person + $10 dollars per extra person
This is the second activity that can be done here inside. It is an area designed as a farm where they have all kinds of animals such as ducks, rabbits, goats, donkeys, pigs, whose and ponies. Here children can touch them, feed them, live with them and take pictures with them.

This activity has two recovery fees:

$90 pesos for the general public
50 pesos if you eat at the “Suculenta” Restaurant located right there.
They have a lot of animals where the little ones of the family will be very happy.
